PASSIONATE ABOUT MUSIC
The stage darkens and soon a Sanskrit mantra fills the YMCA auditorium on the 52nd day of the 111 day long Soorya Festival .A hindustani concert, conducted by Jalsa Ghar chamber founded in the memory of legend Satyajith Ray had eminent personalities including several hindustani singers , media persons and the light in the path of Soorya festival , Sooorya Krishnamoorthy to motivate , the hindustani and award winning play back singer gayatri .
She began the concert with a ‘raga malkauns’ set to adi tala,in vilambit ektal and druth teental.
The concert moved to a more enhanced level with detailed delineation .The vocal alapana was adequate ,but strained.Once again ,the tabalist,Roshan Harris , stole the show with his inspired musical phrases.
The vocalist, Gayatri , adorned the piece with innovative swaraprastharas.The entire show pleased with its buoyancy and brightness.From start to finish , Gayatri maintained a high degree of solemnity. The entire show was pleasing and had a high quotient of a vivacious presentation .
MAIN ATTRACTION
The YMCA hall was not just packed with music lovers, enthusiasts , and passer bys , but also ,with artists and painters . The hall had an amazing collection of paintings by Rasi Rozario from Cochin .The beauty on the bold use of colour and the right use of texture, made all his paintings stand out .This added an extra brightness and advantage to Gayatri’s performance.
LAUNCHING FUNCTION
As the show was about to begin , Soorya Krishnamoorthy ,introduced and invited all, to the launching function of HLK-KERALA-LAUNCHING FUNCTION .Sreeja,a TV comperer aand anchor , is the initiator for this charitable trust . The aim of this trust is to support the poor and needy with “Heart -Kidney -Liver”problems. The Launching , to be held on the 12th of this month at press club , is exepcted to have eminent personalities like Actor Madhu, Shankar, cosmopolitan hospital director Dr.P M Madhu ,NIMS hospital director Dr Faisal Khan and many more.
